VeNe (IT) e futuremellon/not yet art (IT/GR/UK) in partnership con la Laurea Magistrale in Teatro e Arti Performative / IUAV (IT) vi invitano a [Screendance Landscapes - due giorni su danza e schermo], un convegno a Venezia sul tema della videodanza, un evento che vuole promuovere la teoria e la pratica della screendance (danza per lo schermo) .

Grazie a talk curati da esperti del campo della danza, della screendance, e delle arti digitali e multimediali, si cercherà di:

- tracciare la storia della screendance (Marisa Hayes and Franck Boulegue / International Videodance Festival of Burgundy)

- esplorare l’arte della screendance come una ‘embodied research’ (Heike Salzer/University of Roehampton, UK)

- esaminare le possibilità di una tecnologia a 360° (Marisa Zanotti / University of Chichester, UK)

Inoltre, verrà discussa ed esplorata l’ossessione crescente del campo della danza nei confronti dello schermo, sollevando e portando alla luce quesiti ontologici sulla natura effimera della danza d’archivio, della documentazione della danza, della trasmissione digitale e mediata tramite lo schermo (Enrico Pitozzi; Stefano Tomassini IUAV) e sulla connessione della teoria e della pratica nel pensare/progettare e nel fare screendance. Un seminario con Cosimo Terlizzi, filmmaker e artista indipendente e una serie di proiezioni di lavori di screendance forniranno delle visioni sulla pratica ibrida della screendance. Nella tavola rotonda, artisti, curatori e producers avranno l’opportunità di discutere e confrontarsi sulle diverse posizioni nel curare la pratica della screendance. Infine, l’annuncio di una nuova open call inaugurerà la nuova stagione di [SET.mefree] Dance and Movement on Screen. Chiuderemo i due giorni con un djset a cura di Nina dB!

Sostengono il progetto il corso di Laurea Magistrale in Teatro e Arti Performative - IUAV (IT), Sale Docks (IT), Roehampton University (UK) e ESSEREDANZA(IT). Collaborano alla realizzazione del progetto International Video Dance Festival of Burgundy (FR), Lago Film Fest (IT), Athens Video Dance Project (GR), Dance On Screen (AT) e DanzaArchivio ViSI (IT). 

Il progetto fa parte di una serie di eventi dal titolo [SET.mefree] che l'associazione VeNe e futuremellon/not yet art stanno portando avanti dal 2016.

L’evento si terrà:

• Lunedì 16 aprile: Aula Gradoni-Cotonificio (IUAV University), Dorsoduro 2196, 30123, Venezia 
• Martedì 17 aprile mattina: Aula Gradoni-Cotonificio (IUAV University), Dorsoduro 2196, 30123, Venezia 
• Martedì 17 aprile nel pomeriggio e sera: S.a.L.E Docks, Fondamenta Soranzo della Fornace 307, 30123, Venezia .

The Italian cultural association VeNe and the international collective futuremellon/not yet art in partnership with the Graduate Program in Theatre and Performing Arts at Università Iuav di Venezia organize the international symposium [Screendance Landscapes - due giorni su danza e schermo].  

Invited academic and researchers from the fields of Dance, Screendance, and Intermedial and Digital Arts will seek to

- trace the history of screendance (Marisa Hayes and Franck Boulegue/International Videodance Festival of Burgundy)

- explore screendance as an embodied research (Heike Salzer/University of Roehampton, London)

- examine the possibilities of 360° technology (Marisa Zanotti / University of Chichester, UK).

Opportunities for discussion will further explore the growing obsession of the dance field with the screen bringing up ontological questions about the ephemeral nature of dance to be archived, mediated and digitally transmitted (Enrico Pitozzi; Stefano Tomassini / Università Iuav di Venezia), and about the connection of theory and practice in the thinking and doing of screendance. Furthermore, a master-class with the independent artist and filmmaker Cosimo Terlizzi and a series of screenings, will provide insights into the hybrid practice of screendance. International artists, curators and producers will have the chance to discuss and exchange their perspectives on the practice of screendance curation. Finally, the announcement of an open call will inaugurate the new season of [SET.mefree] Dance and Movement on Screen. The event will conclude with a djset by Nina dB.  

The project is supported by the Theatre and Performing Arts Program - IUAV (IT), Sale Docks (IT), Roehampton University (UK), ESSEREDANZA (IT). It is realized in collaboration with International Video Dance Festival of Burgundy(FR),  Lago Film Fest (IT), Athens Video Dance Project (GR), Dance On Screen (AT) and DanzaArchivio ViSI (IT).

The event will take place

• on the 16th and 17th of April 2018 at Aula Gradoni-Cotonificio, Università Iuav di Venezia, Dorsoduro 2196, 30123, Venice and
• on the evening of 17th of April at S.a.L.E Docks, Fondamenta Soranzo della Fornace 307, 30123, Venice.
